Love this book. As a healthcare provider, NOTHING works my nerves like bad medical fiction. Heidi Cullinan got it just right. The love story is there, but woven into such a realistic backdrop that it really worked for me. Mental illness is neither trivialized or stereotyped and I'm giving major kudos for how well this story unfolds.
Denver is sooooooo sweet. He instinctively knew what Adam needed. I loved the fact that they really worked on their communication. The D/s aspect was subtle, but again...it worked. Adam is a hot mess, but to watch him heal and grow was fabulous. Even when he didn't quite make it, you just had to applaud his effort.
For me, this was a really nice contemporary read. The plot was strong, the dialogue crisp and witty, the sex hot and nasty.
There are old Tucker Springs characters, that we kinda catch up with, and new ones that I pray get their own stories.
